I have got to give my Dad credit for starting me down the software path. In the mid-eighties I was unsure what career to pursue and my Dad (who was an aircraft engineer) said to me “Why don’t you learn about computers? I see it being used more and more in aircraft”. And that was it. My journey into the computer field started there and it still hasn’t stopped. Probably never will.
Dawning of an idea
After over 20 years in the computer arena developing and managing business applications, it finally it dawned on me that I should venture out on my own. Actually I had a couple of kicking angels in the form of my sister Renuka and brother-in-law Sean of Psychotactics. A regular dose of swift kicks in the behind was what got me off my butt and into entrepreneurship land.
I started by dabbling in creating my own travel website. With tools like WordPress, creating a website is easy once you get a framework.
The idea of StressLessWeb came to me, when I realized that a lot of small businesses are just being held hostage by their web developer for no good reason. Being a software developer, it bugged me to hear stories about how people felt trapped and unable to make easy changes on their own—when it is really simple.
I know you are probably thinking “What makes you so special” in this sea of professional web developers and designers. Well I’m very focused and organized and that I believe is key in getting a project off the ground and completed on time. And having been a hands on project manager helps me in following all the best practices needed in any design or development project no matter the size.
My pet peeve these days are developers and designers who do a half baked job and then disappear into the night. I call it duct tape development. So I’ve become extremely passionate about not just doing an excellent job but also on being there for the client.
Our mission is to go above and beyond 🙂.
So what do I do when I am not creating websites? I love to hike. I love traveling and exploring new places (I have lived in different parts of the world). I also enjoy watching British Mystery movies and British Masterpiece Classics on PBS. Not sure how that would help you but it might. 🙂
And I’ve recently started learning cartooning. Check out my cartoons and follow me on my cartoon journey on Facebook.
